Quote On The Christian Faith

"Whoever, then, thinks that he understands the Holy Scriptures, or any part of them, but puts such an interpretation upon them as does not tend to build up this twofold love of God and our neighbor, does not yet understand them as he ought.”

― Augustine of Hippo, On Christian Doctrine

"If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself." - Saint Augustine

G4E Faith Statement

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.1

1. God

The creator of heaven and earth. He alone is worshiped.2

One God in three persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.3

God the Father is the source of everything. God the Son is the one who make us partakers of God's kingdom by grace. God the Holy Spirit is the one who pours the love and grace of God in our heart by communing with us.4

Jesus is perfect God and perfect man.5

The son of God came in the flesh to this world to save us.6

Jesus is born from a Virgin Marry.7

Our Lord Jesus Christ in our behalf was falsely accused, beaten, put to shame, insulted, drank vinegar, put a crown of thorn, crucified, died, rose from the dead in the third day and ascended to heaven.8

2. The Word of God

The bible is written by holy men by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.9

The word of God is so pure that nothing should be added or reduced from it.10

Old Testament books: The Book of the law, the writings and the books of the prophets are the Word of God. New Testament books: The four gospels, epistles and the book of revelation are the Word of God.11

3. Salvation

Jesus is the only way for human salvation. There is no remission of sin except by the precious blood of Jesus.12

Now is the day of salvation. One who believes in his/her heart and confesses by his/her tongue that Jesus is Lord over his/her life will be saved. And one who rejects Jesus as his/her Saviour and Lord is already condemned. 13

Faith, confession and baptism are important, thus one who believed, confessed and baptized will be saved.14

The name of a true disciple of Christ is written in the book of life. The disciple obeys the commandments of Jesus, fulfills the will of God, loves God and his/her fellow man, is humble, patient, forgives others, cares for the poor and the oppressed, hates sin, crucified his/her flesh, do good deeds, has clear conscience, not judgmental, always examine himself/herself, good example, keep his/her salvation carefully, walk in holiness or without blemish, not worldly minded, endeavor to turn sinners to the right way of the Lord, not live in sin, bold in faith, wait for the promises of God.15

4. Fellowship of Believers

Those who carry the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ are the members of the fellowship of believers.16

The Holy Spirit according to his will gives spiritual gifts to believers. Spiritual gifts are used to build and sanctify the fellowship of believers.17

Believers are ambassadors of our Lord Jesus Christ.18

The purpose of believers is to bring those who are in darkness to light; and those who are under the oppression of the devil to the mercy of God.19

We worship God in spirit and in truth. We walk in the Spirit.20

Believers need to take the Holy Communion as often for the remembrance of the death and the resurrection our Lord Jesus Christ.21

6. Final Judgment

The Lord Jesus Christ will come to gather all his believers to him from all over the world.22

The Lord Jesus Christ will give rewards to those who obeyed him. And he will condemn those who denied him publicly. 23

Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.24
