Annual Spiritual Assessment

"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." - Romans 12:11

Today is the last Sunday of the year. Therefore it is fitting individually to reflect on the level of our annual spiritual fervor. And based on my own personal experience here are ten basic conditions which I thought are helpful to use them as a spiritometer to measure the warmth of our yearly devotion to the Lord.

1. Did you go to a church fellowship at least once a week?

2. Did you involve in any Church ministry activities?

3. Did you read your Bible daily?

4. Did you pray daily and fast at a definite time?

5. Did you confess your Christian faith boldly in public?

6. Did you avoid deliberate sinful activities?

7. Did you assist a needy person, or visit the sick and the imprisoned?

8. Did you disciple someone?

9. Did you do all the above mentioned devotions joyfully?

Now you know the extent of your spiritual fervor, then make a 2015 resolution to raise your devotional time and activity. For now the Lord's grace is sufficient to clear away what is wanting.
